COSTA RICAN VACATION
This past week I was in Costa Rica for my mom's milestone birthday. Vacations are monumentally important to my sanity. As is unplugging and a clear division of play time and work time. So while on the first day we arrived, you may have seen an instagram shot beyond that my phone was turned off in the bottom of my bag most of the time. But I am back and sharing with you some of the highlights of our trip.
I am already missing my daily Guaro & fresh fruit "smoothies".
We rented a house on the cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Playa La Macha, a hike down the cliffs from the house.
The best sunsets were right from the balcony of the house. The sunset cruises would stop right in front to catch our view.
We walked on several suspension bridges on this canopy walk, rewarded at the bottom with these falls.
Costa Rica has three types of monkeys, Howler, Capuchin, & Titi (Squirrel). We saw all three in the wild, but by far the best treat were these endangered Titi monkey visits a couple of times during our stay. I believe the monkeys enjoyed squealing at my nephew as much as he enjoyed squealing at them.
Birthday Dinner for my mom at tropical restaurant.
We did a tour at Villa Vanilla, a biodynamic vanilla farm, where they also grow Ceylon cinnamon, peppercorns, cocoa, tropical fruits, cardamon - a real foodie treat. The vanilla vine is pictured.
We also did the requisite zip line tour.
