Client Gift Guide
Whether you have a client installation and project completion that you need a gift for or whether you’d like to give something more than a card this holiday - this client gift guide has the perfect gift for all your clients.
As always, the best gifts are have thought and intention behind them. The time your client mentioned their love of ballet, or a favorite restaurant in Paris, or their guilty pleasure are all nuggets you can translate into a perfect gift.
Don’t overthink client gifts, I’ve included ideas below, but a nice candle, a specialty food item, a beautiful bouquet of flowers, or the old standby - a bottle of champagne are all great (and simple) gift ideas. I’m pretty sure as long as something has beautiful wrapping it makes the gift that much more impressive anyway.
Books
I think books are one of the best gifts to give clients - you’re bound to find a topic that interests your client, as their interior designer, you should know their interests and activities fairly well and should be able to select a book that speaks to those interests. (1)
Food Gifts
Food gifts are great for people who have everything or can buy anything because they can be consumed! And everyone needs to eat. (2)
Adopt an Olive Tree - Definitely not something that someone would typically purchase for themselves, but a luxurious gift for a client - especially one that entertains or enjoys food.
Wood Spoons - Even for someone who doesn’t cook much, these wood spoons are lovely sculptural pieces that will look amazing on the counter.
Mexican Hot Chocolate Set - This is an unusual, but warm and cozy gift for winter. I also love the other “uncommon” but useful items that this site has.
Experience
Experiences are one of my favorite gifts. They take up no room and create lasting memories. Think passes or memberships to museums, cooking classes, wine tasting, painting classes, movie tickets, tickets to concert or theatre.
Airbnb Experiences - You can check out your local area or if you know a client is traveling this can be a personal and thoughtful gift. The image is from a cooking class in Mexico City.
Home Goods
Anything for the home is a natural fit for our clients. I like giving something a little quirky or unusual here. Something that the client may not buy for themselves, but we know it would look great in their home.
Brass key chain - How cute would this be in a gift box with their key as a housewarming gift?
Lumbar pillow - Made by Indigenous people in Canada using traditional patterns.
Custom House Ornament - A thoughtful gift if this is the first Christmas in their home or as a project completion gift.
